##CPUT HOUSE RULES
Residential Access
Northville Student Accommodation Pty Ltd has a strict “Right of Admission
Policy” at all Residences
All students are provided with an Access key for the front door
The internal turnstile is controlled via biometrics or Fingerprints
All Residences has a strict 00h00 – 05h00 curfew
NOTE: ANY DEVIATIONS MUST BE REQUESTED, VALID REASON AFTER INVESTIGATION MAY BE APPROVED OR DENIED BASED CASE BASIS

CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV)
All common areas of the residences are fitted with CCTV camera’s
The CCTV footage may be released together with access logs to any party that
Northville SA deems necessary
This evidence may then be used against any transgressors
NOTE: BATHROOMS AND ROOMS ARE NOT MONITORED
STUDENT ROOMS
Each room has a set of furniture that is to remain in the room
This property becomes the Students Responsibility and students are liable for
Damages
The Rooms are to be kept clean and cleaned regularly and will be inspected
No furniture may be removed from the room
All breakages must be reported to Northville SA on the Whatsapp Line
No smoking is permitted in the room, covering of detectors is a serious offence
NOTE: NORTHVILLE SA STAFF MAY INSPECT ANY STUDENTS ROOM FOR
INSPECTIONS OR REPAIRS WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE (STAFF WILL KNOCK AND
ANNOUNCE THEMSELVES)
BANNED ITEMS
No Weapons are allowed
No Alcohol is allowed
No Heaters, Kettles, Snackwhich Machines, Etc. is allowed
No Cooking facilities is allowed, Hot Plates, Etc.
No Microwaves, Toasters, etc. is allowed
No Drugs is allowed
No Okka pipes is allowed
NOTE: A SMALL BAR FRIDGE FOR THE ROOM IS PERMITTED AS WELL AS AN
APPROVED SABS ELECTRIC BLANKET
WRITTEN WARNINGS
Study areas are quiet areas, at all times
Entertainment area noise levels must be kept down as to not disturb other
Students
No Alcohol permitted on premises.
No Smoking inside residences. Smoking areas outside are available.
No Illegal substances and Weapons
NOTE: ADHERE TO STAFF INSTRUCTIONS, WHO WILL GUIDE TO DO SO WOULD RESULT IN A WARNING
YOU. FAILURE
GENERAL
No Occu pipes or smoking apparatus are allowed
Initiation of students are not permitted.
No Pets allowed
Outside of Residences, safety is the students responsibility
Do not display valuable Items
Walk in Groups where possible
Be observant and aware of surroundings
NOTE: ALL RESIDENCES CLOSE DOWN ON 1 DECEMBER EACH YEAR
FINE OFFENCES
Tampering with electrical fixtures, appliances, cameras, fire equipment or
building features – R250 Fine
Visitor Sleepover or overstay – R350 per visitor
Visitor still required to leave and May have access removed
Lost key / Missing Pinboard– R100 per key
Lost or damaged combination Lock – R600
Theft of any item from communal fridges and freezers – R350
Dirty Room – R50 per person
Lost Bin – R150
Student Room Damages – The cost of repairs for damages.
NOTE: ALL FINES ARE DUE UPON RECEIVING ONE
STUDENT COMPLAINTS
General repair complaints may be reported via the Northville SA Whatsapp via
the Appointed Residential House Committee.
General Queries or general complaints to be directed to the Residence House
Committee, who are to be elected with assistance from the Northville Student
Liaison Officer
Serious Complaints that require investigation must be done via a Complaints
Form to be handed to the Residence House Committee, who will in turn liaise
with the Northville Student Liaison Officer
The Northville Student Liaison Officer will arrange regular meetings with the
appointed Residence House Committee members
NOTE: IF COMPLAINTS FORMS ARE NOT HANDED TO THE RESIDENCE HOUSE
COMMITTEE FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE NORTHVILLE STUDENT LIAISON
OFFICER, IT WILL NOT BE ATTENDED TO.
MAINTENANCE CONCERNS
All maintenance Concerns are to be Communicated to the Residential House
Committee or appointed Student Maintenance Liaison.
All Maintenance concerns are logged via specialised Whatsapp, recorded and
managed via the Northville Student Liason Offcer
NOTE: EXTERNAL PROCESSES ARE NOT ADHERED TO BY NORTHVILLE
STUDENT ACCOMMODATION PTY LTD.
(ENSURE TO FOLLOW INTERNAL PROCESSES TO HAVE CONCERNS RESOLVED)
VISITOR PROCEDURES
All visitors must be registered via the Northville SA Offices in Bellville.
Visitor approved periods are communicated and approved via CPUT Housing.
No Visitors are permitted until visitor periods are approved
Visitors are required to access residences using their own registered biometric
profile.
Vistor times, once approved by CPUT Housing are from:
Monday – Friday (10h00am – 21h00pm
Saturday & Sunday (11h00 – 21h00)
NOTE: NO SLEEPOVERS ARE PERMITTED AND VISITORS VIOLATING ACCESS
POLICIES WILL HAVE THEIR ACCESS REMOVED
